Description : 1978-1988 GM G-Body –“Pre-fitted Roll Cage” This Cage is our “Not Thru Dash” (NTD) 8pt G-Body cage for those of you who are looking for a super simple, quick cage install without having to remove your dash and mess with anything behind your dash. If you don’t mind the extra work of removing your dash and clearing some space out then without a doubt you should checkout our other listing for our “Thru Dash” G-Body Cage kit. Both cages are available in High Grade DOM Mild steel .120 wall or 4130 Moly .083 wall NHRA legal to 8.50 General cage info NOTE: An 8 pt cage does not include the rear X bars shown in some of these pictures. The X is included in a 10pt cage setup. Bars that extend into the engine compartment as well as the rear X are included in a 12pt cage kit. Sill bars are not required by NHRA due to the Full Perimeter Frame construction of the GM G-Body cars. Dash bars are also not required to be 8.50 legal on any cage UNLESS you have cut out more then 1sq. ft. of your firewall or trans tunnel and patched over it. Unbolting stuff like heater boxes, wiper motors etc.. and patching over do NOT count towards that. Our G-Body Body Roll Cages are – 100% “Pre-fitted Roll Cages”!! Yes, you read that right. This cage has been expertly Pre-Fitted in a mock up G-Body here in our shop prior to shipping it out to you. But wait that’s not all…we also circle the mating bar surfaces and draw indicator lines giving you a exact location to line them up. But wait that not all…..once complete we take detailed digital pictures of every (your) kit. The pictures show the exact locations (with measurements) of all your key mounting points and then some. We then email you the pictures of your exact cage you are receiving from us, it dosen’t get any easier then that.
